By aligning industry needs with education, training, and credentialing resources, the Institute seeks to be the thought leader for establishing space workforce standards, building job role credentials and developing a comprehensive body of knowledge.

To fully address the need, we brought together a unique combination of leadership, with leaders from a variety of sectors committed to bringing the industry together for collaboration and a provider-neutral approach.
Led by senior executives from the space, learning, and credentialing industries, the Space Workforce Institute is working with Commercial Space Leaders, Academic Institutions, Former DoD Space Leadership, and Industry Associations to create meaningful skill-based standards and certifications for the space industry. The resulting efforts of the Space Workforce Institute is a robust set of alternative pathways to space competency to satisfy the need for tens of thousands of new professionals to participate in the industry annually.
In addition to new professionals entering the space workforce, the Institute’s certificates and certifications are aimed at ongoing professional development to a true professional development community that refines and evolves best practices and introduces newly developed methods supported by the industry.
